Bread of Life

Bread of Life   John 6:32-35  『 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then they said unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 』 The people who had their hungry stomachs filled by the miracle of the five loaves and two fish wanted to make Jesus their king. They thought that if they made Jesus their king, he would solve the problem of their food and shelter. Jesus, who knew their hearts, avoided the place. They searched for Jesus and followed him to Capernaum by boat. For them, food was a serious and realistic problem, so they approached Jesus cautiously. However, Jesus knew both their realistic problems and their inner intentions...

A prophet will you raise up for yourself from among your brothers, like me.

A prophet will you raise up for yourself from among your brothers, like me.   Acts 3:22-26 For Moses said, "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from among your brothers, like me; to him you will listen to everything he says. Anyone who does not listen to that prophet will be destroyed from his people." And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel onward and on, have spoken of these days: You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' God raised up his servant (ton-pa-da) and sent him to you first to bless you, in order that you should turn every one of you from his iniquities." Moses served as a mediator between God and the people. The people spoke and acted through Moses. However, in the future, a prophet like Moses (Jesus Christ) will come, and people will listen directly to him (ho logos). God will resurrect with Je...

David and Goliath

David and Goliath   1 Samuel 17:48-49 『 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took then a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. 』 This is a scene from the battle between David of Israel and Goliath of the Philistines during the time of King Saul of Israel when the Philistine army invaded Israel. On the surface, Goliath was a man of great stature, wearing armor and carrying a sword, but David was a shepherd boy with a stick and five slings. The leader in the vanguard determined the outcome of the war, but on the surface, it was a fight where they were no match. However, Goliath fell to his death from a sling shot by David. Therefore, the fight between David and Goliath is cited in various forms even today as a war...

The meaning of resurrection

The meaning of resurrection   If a country applies a certain system, gives up on it, introduces another system, and even that is not good, and reapplies the previous system, people say that the system has been revived. Revival means returning to the previous state. This is the meaning in our word resurrection. It is not perfect, but it can convey the meaning of resurrection to a considerable extent. A person is born, lives, and dies. If we apply the above words, the previous does not mean the time when one was alive in the world, but the state before one was born. Before being born in the flesh, it means the state of the spirit, an angel. Before, one was an angelic spirit, but after committing a crime against God, one became a human being in the flesh. However, if one were to return to the past, one would return to being an angel in the kingdom of God. The spirit was imprisoned in the body, so we became human, but we were born as spiritual sinners who could not know ...
