Parable of the rich man and Lazarus

Parable of the rich man and Lazarus   Luke 16:19-31  『 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and spread sumptuously every day:And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and he was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom his. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all th...

Parable of treasure

Parable of treasure   Matthew 13:44  『 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hidden in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 』 Regarding this statement, people may misunderstand that they can buy heaven by selling everything they have. When the disciples asked Jesus,  “ Why do you speak in parables? ”  Jesus answered, He said,  “ To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. ” This is to hide it from some people and reveal it to others. Regarding the subject of hidden secrets, Matthew 13:14-15 says,  “ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they sho...

Calms the wind

Calms the wind   Mark 4:39-40 『And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?』 On the surface, Jesus Christ was the Creator in the kingdom of God, but on earth he would be thought of as the Son of God, endowed with God's power and controlling nature. But we must think of the spiritual meaning in this passage. 『And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.』The reason the waves beat happens is because of the wind. Wind means the Holy Spirit. Waves arose because of the wind. So a big wave hit the ship. In the boat were Jesus and his disciples. A ship is an ark. The ark symbolizes Christ. The disciples are on a boat. The sea represents the law. The saying, “A great wave arose in the sea” means that the work of the Holy Spirit takes place within the law, and p...

Parable of ten pounds

Parable of ten pounds   Luke 19:11-27 『 And as they heard these things, he added and sparked a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, thou hast authority over ten cities. And the second came...

Five loaves and two fish

Five loaves and two fish   Mark 6:41-44 『 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided him among them all. And they did all eat, and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men. 』 Jesus heals a demon-possessed man, raises the dead daughter of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, frees a woman who had suffered from an issue of hemorrhage for twelve years, calms the wind, and heals people with withered hands, paralytics, and lepers. Many people came to see Jesus. So Jesus continued teaching the people without even having time to eat, and it was evening. When the disciples came to Jesus and asked if they should give them something to eat as the day was getting late, Jesus said,  “ You give them something to eat. ” ...

A bloody husband art thou to me.

A bloody husband art thou to me.   Exodus 4:24-25 『 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet her, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. 』 If we look at chapter 4 verse 24 again in Hebrew, According to the Hebrew Bible, Haya( וַיְהִ֥י ) is the name that Jehovah God gave to Moses. It is a name that means  “ I exist. ”  God directly reveals his name. Derek( דֶּ֖רֶךְ ) is derived from the word attic (to step, walk) and means a path, symbolically a journey of life, or a pattern of action, and as an adverb it means ~ therefore, apart, because, through, towards. Maron( מָּלֹ֑ון ) has the meaning of campsite, inn, etc. In the Old Testament, the tabernacle has also been used as a concept for a sanctuary. Pagash( פְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּ ) means to meet...

Parable of talents

Parable of talents   Matthew 25:14-30  『 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods his. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several abilities; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And similarly he had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful. servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over ma...
